This year’s Big Draw took place the first full week of October. The theme was ‘Stained Glass Windows’. Neale found some inspiring pictures of windows and I cut out templates. These were used by Chris and Barry Samways with Scouts, Beavers and Cubs at the Wickham Centre on their allotted evening producing some amazing art work to attach to a roll of poster paper. I went to the Wickham C of E Primary School ably assisted by Mavis Stephens and three classes of children took part in producing another stunning set of ‘stained glass windows’ on a roll of white poster paper to compliment the other one. A4 cards were also given to the school so that other children could produce their own ‘windows’ to add to the event.
Next was the event in the Church, this took place on Saturday 10th and was from 10.00 until 16.00. At first I was worried nobody would come then groups of people arrived, families and a band of bellringers as well as many individuals. The result will be displayed in the Church, so please come along and see it!
